Folding carton FAQs.

Clear answers about quantities, dielines, samples, paperboard, printing, finishes and UK delivery.

01

Ordering custom cartons

What is the minimum order quantity for printed folding cartons?

Our minimum order quantity for custom printed folding cartons starts at 500 units. The final production route still depends on carton size, board, print coverage and finishing requirements.

Can you produce small runs of custom printed cartons?

Yes. Short production runs start from 500 units for custom printed folding cartons. Samples and structural prototypes are available separately when fit, board or finish needs to be checked before production.

How long do custom folding cartons take?

Typical production lead time is 7–10 working days after the carton structure, artwork, board and finishes are approved. Sampling, unusually complex finishes and delivery are additional where required.

Do you deliver folding cartons across the UK?

The UK campaign is designed around UK enquiries and delivery. Final delivery method and cost depend on the packed volume, quantity and destination.

02

Artwork, structure and sampling

Can you create a dieline for my product box?

Yes. A carton dieline can be developed from accurate product dimensions, packing orientation and closure requirements. For unusual or fragile products, a physical prototype is the safest way to confirm fit.

Can I get a carton sample before production?

Yes. Depending on the stage of the project, this may be an existing structure sample, a plain custom prototype, a digitally printed sample or a production proof.

What artwork files are needed for printed cartons?

Print-ready vector artwork is preferred, with linked images, fonts handled correctly and colours clearly specified. Artwork should be built on the approved dieline rather than a self-created box outline.

Can you match an existing carton?

An existing carton can be reviewed as a reference, but dimensions, board, construction and print details still need to be confirmed. Matching is more reliable when an approved physical sample and artwork files are available.

03

Materials, finishes and end use

Which paperboard is best for folding cartons?

Folding box board, solid bleached board, recycled board and kraft-style grades each behave differently. The best option depends on product weight, surface appearance, print coverage, finish and recycling goals.

Are sustainable or recycled carton materials available?

Recycled-content and responsibly sourced fibre options can be considered. The lowest-impact choice is not always the lightest or most recycled board; the carton still needs to protect the product and avoid damage or replacement.

Which premium finishes can be added to a carton?

Common options include hot foil, spot UV, embossing, debossing, matte or gloss lamination, protective coatings and die-cut windows. The sequence and compatibility should be planned before artwork is finalised.

Can folding cartons be used for food, healthcare or regulated products?

They can, but suitability is application-specific. Direct or indirect contact, barriers, coding, traceability, testing and relevant standards must be identified and confirmed for the exact product and supply chain.
