What are tuck end cartons?

Tuck end cartons are printed paperboard boxes with folding flaps at the top and base. They are die-cut, creased and side-glued before being supplied flat, ready to open and close around the product.

The format is widely used for cosmetics, skincare, supplements, healthcare products and compact retail goods because it combines strong print area with an efficient one-piece structure. The final box is made to the product dimensions rather than selected from a stock size.

Same family.
Different fold logic.

Both structures arrive flat with a glued side seam. The direction of the top and base closures changes the dieline, artwork orientation and packing sequence.

03 / Built for the product

A retail carton is
more than four panels.

Fit, closure, print area and the packing process are resolved together so the finished carton works beyond the first visual impression.

01

Made to the product

Finished dimensions, working clearance and board are specified around the actual product rather than a stock box.

02

Designed for the shelf

Large principal panels create room for branding, product information, barcodes and a clear range system.

03

Efficient to store

Cartons are normally supplied side-glued and flat, reducing storage volume before filling and closure.

04

Ready for repeat runs

Approved structure, board, colour and finishing references create a clearer specification for repeat orders and related SKUs.

08 / Questions before pricing

Tuck end carton FAQs.

Clear answers for buyers comparing structure, quantity, timing and customisation.

What is the minimum order for custom printed tuck end cartons?

The minimum order quantity starts at 500 units. Price is then calculated from finished size, board, print coverage, finishing, quantity and delivery requirements.

How long do printed tuck end boxes take to produce?

Typical production takes 7–10 working days after the structure, artwork, paperboard and finishes are approved. Sampling, unusually complex finishing and delivery time are additional where required.

What is the difference between straight and reverse tuck end cartons?

Straight tuck end cartons have top and base flaps that close in the same direction. Reverse tuck end cartons close in opposite directions and can offer an efficient flat layout. Product weight, artwork orientation and packing method help decide between them.

Can you create the carton dieline?

Yes. You can begin with the product dimensions, approximate weight, packing orientation and quantity. The final artwork should be applied to the approved dieline before print production.

Can tuck end cartons include windows, inserts or premium finishes?

Yes. Options include clear window patches, paperboard inserts, hanger tabs, thumb notches, tamper details, matte or gloss lamination, aqueous coating, spot UV, embossing, debossing and hot foil. Gold and silver are common foil choices, with various other colours available.

Are tuck end cartons supplied flat?

They are normally supplied flat with the side seam pre-glued. This supports efficient storage and transport before the cartons are opened, squared, filled and closed during packing.

Can you support repeat orders and several SKUs?

Yes. Keeping the approved structure, board, colour references and finishing specification together creates a clearer route for repeat runs and related SKUs. Each artwork version still needs its own approval.

Do you deliver custom tuck end cartons across the UK?

The campaign is designed for UK enquiries and delivery. The final delivery method, timing and cost depend on the packed volume, quantity and destination.
